Mathematicians, ecologists and sportspeople

The mathematicians in Room 11 were solving problems in pairs today.  Here are some photos of the students doing 'Finger Trail' in class.

As part of our exploration into Balance of the Ecosystem at the Rocky Shore (tide pools) we have been making origami creatures like pāpaka (crab), ika (fish) and kākihi (limpets). Over several art sessions the students did a directed drawing of a kiore moana (seahorse), painted it one flat colour, and then used bubble-wrap to print a rainbow of colours as texture.  Photos of the Classroom Wall to follow.

Even weeks Room 11 takes part in Youthtown sports. The the students learn, have fun, and listen while exploring independence, belonging, mastery and generosity within team sports.
